Transport For Wales provides a high-quality, safe, integrated, affordable, and accessible transport network across the country. Through the new contract with Payzone, they wanted to be sure that rail users could still pay by cash before boarding a train. This new cash-based solution will be rolled out to Payzone retailers across Wales and bordering English towns to enable customers paying by cash to travel easily across the country.
Customers wishing to purchase a Transport For Wales rail ticket will be able to do so at selected Payzone stores.
This contract adds to our ever-expanding services with recent contract wins like Amazon top ups, National Express and, of course, British Gas.
Simon Lambert, Commercial Director for Payzone Bill Payments Limited, said:
“We are always trying to expand the range of services we offer across each of our main sectors so adding another transporting contract is a huge success. This exclusive partnership will see a country-specific service operating on the Payzone network and will be available for Payzone retailers across Wales and bordering English towns. Transport For Wales will complement our existing transport ticketing portfolio and will support footfall and basket spend for Payzone retailers across Wales as we come into the new year.”
Andrew Moore, Stations Director from Transport For Wales, said:
“We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Payzone as it will enable us to service Transport For Wales rail customers who want to purchase tickets using cash with ease. This means that all of our customers will still be able to pay using their preferred method as tickets bought through Payzone will be generated straight away.”
