Retailers on the Frontline: Meet Belvir

Here at Payzone, we’re very proud of our retailers, as many have gone above and beyond to help their vulnerable customers.

That’s why we’ve launched our brand new Retailers on the Frontline Awards, as voted for by customers. Our customers have been busy giving us some great feedback through the survey at the bottom of their Payzone receipts. So we’ve been visiting the nominated retailers to say thank you in person, and present them with a gift voucher as a small token of our appreciation.

We also thought it was a great opportunity to share some of the fantastic work that Payzone retailers have been doing within their communities.

Meet Belvir Singh

On Highview Street, which is just a short 15-minute walk from Dudley town centre, is Tiwana Superstore. The store services the local people who live on the well-built estate that surrounds it and is owned by Belvir Singh and his family.

For the last 30 years, Belvir has run Tiwana Superstore with the help of his daughter who also works there. He is proud to have developed a great relationship with his community and recognises the majority of his customers who visit the shop. Many locals know Belvir for his love of football; he is an avid supporter of the mighty Wolverhampton Wanderers!

So, what has Belvir and his family been doing since the outbreak of coronavirus?

Belvir has worked hard to make sure that those who are vulnerable in his area are well cared for. That has involved visiting those customers who can’t leave their homes to drop off essential groceries.

Since British Gas became exclusive to Payzone in January, many customers rely on the store for topping-up their gas cards and electricity keys. That’s why Belvir has worked tirelessly to keep the shop open so that customers can access key services such as these.
