8 podcasts to inspire business owners

Business Growth

Ever thought of listening to podcasts to help you get inspired?

We are sure that you have heard of them before. They are audio files that you can download and listen to, and are typically broken down into series - just like a program on television might be. So, think of it like a TV program, which you listen to, rather than watch.

What we really love about them is the fact that as you only need to listen to them rather than watch them, you can easily squeeze them into your daily life. Whether you’re doing a piece of work, driving to and from meetings or cooking dinner, it’s easy to listen to an interesting series simultaneously.

But with so many different podcasts out there, covering every topic you could imagine, which podcasts are the most useful to your business?

We’ve put together a few of our favourites, which should help motivate you and give you some great ideas.

Youpreneur – As the title suggests, this podcast talks about entrepreneurship, how to market your business and also about how you can turn your business into a real brand. It’s great if you’re in the early stages of setting up a company.

The creator, Chris Ducker, is a marketing expert who has worked with businesses of all shapes and sizes. So, his views on business growth are certainly worth listening to, plus, he regularly has inspiring guest speakers on his show.

Even if you don’t aspire to be the next big thing, he has some great nuggets of information to help your business.

Tony Robbins – Tony Robbins is a self-help guru and motivational speaker, and covers lots of topics, including business, productivity and life in general. His speeches have inspired people all over the world and he has developed quite the following.

If you are looking to adopt new positive habits to help your business grow and be even more productive, this is perfect for you.

Copyblogger If you have a business website, this is not to be missed. Sonia Simone has experience in start-ups, as well as more established companies, and is an expert when it comes to online marketing.

She presents an excellent podcast series covering everything from to how your website copy can connect with your audience in the best possible way, to how to get into a successful mindset.

So, if you’re looking at sophisticated ways to reel in customers, through a compelling website or social media strategy, then this is absolutely perfect for you.

The Garyvee audio experience – Gary Vaynerchuk is a well-established entrepreneur, author and YouTube star. He is outspoken on a number of topics which make him entertaining and worth listening to.

You might not agree with everything he says, but he has a lot of pearls of wisdom to offer, which should give you some tips to help you and your business.

We think you’ll enjoy listening to his slightly different take on business.

How I built this – Ever wondered how some of the world’s biggest brands came to being?

Radio host Guy Raz speaks to some of the founders of huge companies about the trials and tribulations of being an entrepreneur and growing a business from the bottom up.

Lead to win – One of the biggest issues spoken about in business is leadership. As a business owner, it’s good to understand the qualities it takes to be a leader, particularly if you employ staff.

How can you motivate your staff and drive them towards success? This podcast covers all key aspects of what it takes to be a good leader and it’s certainly worth a listen.

Akimbo – Seth Godin is regarded as a bit of a marketing guru. The former.com executive has transformed himself into a modern age business influencer, and is the author of over 18 books.

He is calm, knowledgeable and has an interesting take on every subject he speaks about, which ranges from marketing ideas, right through to SEO for your website.

Plus, his podcasts are usually only half an hour long, so can be easily fitted into a lunch break.

Changeability – Although not your standard business podcast, this one will give you ways to improve your business practically.

It covers ways to actively change something about yourself, and focuses on how you as a person affects your company and employees. It’s a modern approach to business, and we think it’s a great way to get inspired.
